Fryndly is dedicated to fostering an environment where Guests can be assured that if they book an outing that their Guide or Tutor are going to show up. Obviously, emergencies happen, but barring that, it’s vital that Guides and Tutors make every effort to honor their bookings by showing up on time as agreed as Guets are counting on it.
After Downloading the Fryndly app, if you create a profile as a seller (Guide or Tutor) and host an outing on the platform lasting at least two hours, Fryndly will award you $10. To be eligible users must email [email protected] with the subject line “$10 Welcome Aboard“ with a screen shot of the in-app activity timer showing your outing lasted 2 hours. This promotion is only open to NEW users to the platform.
A solution we can suggest in this scenario is called a handoff. When a Guest is really enjoying themselves and doesn’t want an experience to end that the Guide/Tutor cannot continue for whatever reason, a Guide/Tutor can recommend another Guide/Tutor friend on the platform who is available to hand the Guest off to. If the Guest agrees with the recommendation, the Guest can then book an outing with the second Guest/Tutor and then end the current outing with the first. The two Guides should make every effort to coordinate so that the handoff between them is as seamless as possible so that the Guest has the best experience and is not left alone for an extended period so as to maintain customer value.
If you want to bring a friend along on your outing, make sure the activity post allows it. Guides/Tutors price their outings based partially on how many people they will be entertaining or tutoring. A Guide/Tutor will usually indicate in their actvity post the maximum number of people they will host.
Don’t be shy. Once a booking has been made, this is the time to open the lines of communication. The Guest can ask a question within the booking field or in the chat regarding the booking. Likewise, the Guide/Tutor should immediately review the booking to see if the Guest has posted a question and reach out to the Guest in the chat to give an answer or to make any recommendations ahead of their meeting. In any case, a Guide/Tutor should acknowledge the booking right away to put the Guest at ease and to ensure a great experience.
While there is no “one size fits all” method to maximize income as a seller on the platform, here are a few tips that may help:
1. Social media: Include on your social media profiles or Linktrees that you are on Fryndly as a Guide/Tutor and that you’re available to provide fun experiences to your community.
2. When you post on your socials the things you love to do, be sure to mention that you would love to share these experiences or tips to your followers on the Fryndly platform during curated outings made just for them.
3. So long as you have a guests permission, capture footage of parts of your outings to post as content to your socials.
4. Encourage your circles to join the platform so each of you can earn $25 if they complete at least 7 hours of outings on the platform Then your referral needs to email [email protected] with your name/username with “$25 Referral” in the subject line.
5. Provide value and great service: If your guests are thoroughly engaged with the experience you’re providing, they will happily keep the good times rolling, thus making you more money. Guides/Tutors are paid by the hour so make your Guest feel valued with a great outing.
6. Continue to grow: Increasing your knowledge of the city, hobbies and proficiency in skills you’re genuinely interested in will allow you to create a larger variety of outings, and hence more Guests will be filtered to your profile on the platform.
7. Network effect: Word of mouth. The Fryndly platform is a marketplace that truly thrives on the network effect. The more users who are on the platform, the more opportunities there are for all users to make money and enjoy great outings with other users. So if you like what mission of helping to destroy boredom and getting stuck on tasks, tell a friend.
In the Square App, go to the sandwich icon labeled "More" on the right side of the bottom menu. Then click "Balance" on the left side. Last, click "View all activity" to see your payments and when they were transferred to your bank account.
We understand things come up, such as emergencies, and there is no way to predict them. However, Fryndly is committed to fostering a No Flake policy on a platform that Guests can rely upon when booking activities. Hence, after two cancellations in a 30 day period, Guides/Tutors who fail to show within 10 minutes of the expiration of the last agreed-upon time and location for their bookings twice in 30 days shall be subject to a 30-day suspension from the platform. Therefore, please be mindful to only post activities for dates and times when you are available.
When a Guide/Tutor cancels, the Guest is entitled to a refund of their booking fee. Simply write to [email protected] and in the subject line type "Refund". Please include the Guide's name/username and a screenshot of the original booking confirmation and the cancellation notice. Once we have confirmed the cancellation, the Guest will be reimbursed their booking fee within 3 business days.
All users (Guides/Tutors and Guests) are responsible for bearing their own costs of expenses incurred during an outing. While a Guide/Tutor may agree to pay some, this is completely voluntary and non-binding to future outings. Additionally, Fryndly may decide to comp some users' expenses during an outing as a one-off as a promotion or a reward. Again, these are non-binding towards future outings. If a Guide/Tutor knows there will be some upfront costs associated with an outing, best practice would be to put that info in the activity post prior to publishing.
Guides and Tutors keep 80% of each transaction, subject to sales tax, and they keep 100% of any tips.
No. As a Guide or Tutor, best practice would be to create an actual itinerary (as a Guide) or lesson objectives (as a Tutor) that you’ve pre-checked to ensure you and your Guest can do, logistically. Even if a Guest seems ok with "playing it by ear", this is not ideal and should be discouraged. Guests are paying good money for your time, good company, knowledge and for you to plan a memorable and educational experience. It would not be a best practice or memorable to have a Guest to pay a Guide/Tutor for wandering aimlessly, figuring out your next move.
Not necessarily. Some people who are self-taught are more than capable of tutoring others in their discipline. Both Tutors and Guests should be transparent in their representations, limitations and expectations so that everyone has a great tutoring experience.
No, you’re not tied to the activity you posted verbatim. The activity posts you make should be an outing that you can provide if someone accepts and books as-is. However, Guides/Tutors can alter the posted outing as they see fit based on any number of practical considerations once a booking is made, with the buyer’s consultation if desired.
No, Fryndly is not a dating site. Our platform was designed for platonic adventures and experiences. We want you to focus more on fun, learning and meeting new people and less on the pressures and anxiety of acting perfect and making a good romantic first impression. We recommend users simply relax and be your imperfect selves. All that said, if you do happen to make an unavoidable love connection while using Fryndly, please don’t forget to invite us to the wedding!
Yes. Either side can end the outing at any time. However, as a Guest, you have prepaid for the first hour. Thus, even if you end during the first hour, you will still be charged for only that hour.
A Guide or Tutor must be prepared to provide their Guest an hour of service in accord with the planned itinerary since the Guest has prepaid for this time when they booked the outing. Beyond that, generally, there is no minimum or maximum requirement for outings.
As a Guest, if you need to cancel a booking, you will be charged no more than your booking fee--the amount equal to one hour of your Guide/Tutor's published hourly rate.
The minimum hourly charge is $40 on the platform. Beyond this, however, Guides and Tutors can charge what they want.
No. The outings a Guide posts may represent a sample of their specialties or outings they may have done in the past. However, you can always suggest things you’d like to experience on your outing. Simply chat with your Guide once you’ve booked with them. Please note: the amount of time the Guide has to work with between the booking and start times may affect how much the Guide can deviate from the original activity post.
